Last week I attended an art therapy workshop (online). It was a completely new experience. New understanding of art and therapeutic experiences. Relaxation and meaningful activities. Art therapy is increasingly recognised as a profession. In the early 1980s, the published literature on the subject was also sparse. Indeed, it was not until 1984 that the first book to provide a contemporary perspective on art therapy in the UK was published (Dalley, 1984). The workshop introduced the relationship between art therapy and the spiritual realm.
